Field Trip to Lake Erie Nature and Science Center

Leaders: Nancy Howell (WCAS) and Christine Cain (LENSC)

Eight birders, Fifteen Species

A Barred Owl high in a hemlock tree was the highlight of our 3-mile bird walk.  Tufted Titmice were singing and American Robins foraged at many spots along the way.  Soft fresh snow fell overnight and during the walk, for a beautiful winter scene.  Lake Erie was completely frozen, no waterfowl today!

The theme for this walk was the upcoming Great Backyard Bird Count.  Nancy Howell and Christine Cain shared information about how to take part.
