Lake-to-Lake field trip, Sunday, March 13, 2011

Leader: Nancy Howell

A Northern Harrier over the wetlands behind Polaris school was a highlight of our field trip on the Lake-to-Lake trail. Lesser Scaup on Lake Isaac were another nice surprise. In the wetlands around Lake Abram, the tall vegetation was flat to the ground, offering a clear view that we don’t see later in the year. The Red-shouldered Hawk was in the Lake Abram area. Nancy Howell, our leader, birds the area often, so it was a special treat to have her as our guide. To finish the morning, we stopped for coffee Panera.
