Western Cuyahoga Audubon Society Field trip to Lake County Regional Airport and environs Sunday, March 22, 2009
Trip leader: Liz Clingman
It was our "larky" day. Around the airport Eastern Meadowlarks sang and showed off their yellow and black spring plumage. Horned larks were everywhere in the grass and cornstalks. We had a chance to observe two Killdeer at their nest. Thanks Terry, Joanne, Kit and Dennis for van rides around the airport area to Fowl Road. Next stop was Caley Reservation of Lorain County Metroparks. Caley had two trumpeter swans. We listened to sounds of Northern Leopard frogs, spring peepers and chorus frogs. The final stop was the Oberlin Reservoir.
