Monthly Morning with the Birds
October 18, 2008

Hi All

On today’s Monthly Morning with the birds at Rocky River Nature Center we saw several flocks of pine siskins, maybe 200 birds in all. They were really enjoying the abundant pine cones on tall pines near the wetland areas, and then they were in several other locations as well.  Nice chance to see them. Bill Deininger said that he had seen siskins by RRNC last Sunday as well, though not in such numbers.

Also saw an American Black Duck by the beaver lodge near the entrance to the Nature Center.

Happy birding.
